  6. This is the read me file for the utilities distributed with
  7. RBBS-PC version 17.2B.  It should be a part of RBBS-UTL.ZIP,
  8. containing the following files:
  9.  
  10. MU-PURGE.ZIP   Two fine utilities for managing messages and users.
  11.                Has many advantages over the similar functions built into
  12.                RBBS-PC and CONFIG.
  13.  
  14. RCFG172A.ZIP   Utility for converting a configuration DEF file
  15.                from any version of RBBS from 14.1D - 17.1D to
  16.                the 17.2A format.
  17.  
  18. (Note:  the 17.2B format is identical to 17.2A)
  19.  
  20. This file is part of a larger set of files and should not
  21. normally be distributed alone.
  22.  
  23. RBBS-PC Version CPC17-2B is distributed via three mandatory and four
  24. optional standard "ZIP" files.   Two sets of merges are available but
  25. not automatically distributed.

  54. RBBS-MRG.ZIP  Merges to upgrade from 17.2A and recompile

  56. Simply uncompress the first three files and follow the instruction in the
  57. RBBS-PC documentation entitled, "Installing RBBS-PC for the First Time."
  58.  
  59. For those who have never operated an electronic bulletin board before,
  60. we suggest getting Bantam Books' "The Complete Electronic Bulletin Board
  61. Starter Kit" by Charles Bowen and David Peyton (ISBN 0-553-34552-4).
  62. RBBS-PC's documentation is only a "reference" and is not nearly as good
  63. a learning guide for new SYSOP's.  However, the book only covers RBBS-PC
  64. version 15.1C, and therefore does not cover new features.  Version 17.2B
  65. is downward compatible with the system files of 15.1C.
